JOHN BOWLES
John Bowles has spent his entire life Storytelling as an accomplished performer. He literally grew up on a weekly television variety program in Australia, every Saturday night for six years, singing and dancing his way into the hearts of the Australian audiences from the age of ten. He emerged as an adult theatre performer touring the world, starring in major theatre productions like CATS and Phantom of the Opera, the concert stage, and beyond.
In his long and varied career, he has enjoyed working in all aspects of the entertainment and broadcasting industries. John is a recording artist and is currently writing his second children’s musical theatre production. His experience on television is extensive, not just in front of the camera as a sought-after presenter and performer, but he has also written, produced, and directed factual and documentary television.
In this thought-provoking workshop, John uses his stage and television experience to bring alive the practical techniques that will unlock your communication skills and give you greater confidence when you need it most. John will help you to expand your Storytelling toolkit which will allow you to feel and be more creative in your choices and how you approach the stories you need to tell.
Some of the unique moments in John’s career: 250 hours of live, variety television by the age of 16. Taking the stage as a soloist at The Great Hall of The People, Beijing, with Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber. Putting pen to paper to adapt a children’s book into a musical theatre script and score. The excitement of co-hosting a LIVE morning television programme. Creating music behind a microphone in the vocal booth of a recording studio. Touring as the primary public relations spokesman for a major theatre production focused on driving ticket sales. Filming on stage at the Lyceum Theatre, London, as the presenter of the Disney Lion King backstage documentary.
